چکیده مقاله:

Background The objective was to evaluate whether extending the embryo culture period from 2 to 3 days would yield a more optimal selection of viable embryos, thereby increasing the pregnancy rat. MaterialsAndMethods We have retrospectively analyzed pregnancy rates in the patients who had embryo transfer either on day 2 (582 patients) or on day 3 (387 patients) post-insemination over a 10-month period. The relationship between the quality score of day 2 and day 3 embryos and their respective pregnancy rates was also analyzed. Results The demographic and clinical characteristics were similar in both groups. Embryos transferred on day 2 or day 3, were similar morphologically& we found no difference in the distribution of grades between patients who became pregnant and those who failed to become pregnant. Pregnancy rates were slightly higher in patients who had embryo transfer on day 3 (40.72%) than patients who had .transferred on day 2 (38.96%), but this difference was not significant proportion of embryos with 2-3 cells, four cells, and 5-7 cells, which selected for transfer, showed significant difference between day 2 and day 3 (p

A Comparative Analysis Between Day 2 and Day 3 Embryo Transfer in IVF/ICSI: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study

Objectives: Although the fertilization and cleavage rate of implanted embryos is about 70%-90% in most patients, only a small number of embryos grown in vitro have the potential to implant. This indicates that many factors are responsible for a successful implantation, including obtaining viable embryos for transfer. This study aimed to examine the clinical results of pregnancy and implantation...

Ectopic pregnancy rates with day 3 versus day 5 embryo transfer: a retrospective analysis

BACKGROUND: Blastocyst transfer may theoretically decrease the incidence of ectopic pregnancy following IVF-ET in view of the decreased uterine contractility reported on day 5. The purpose of our study is to specifically compare the tubal pregnancy rates between day 3 and day 5 transfers. METHODS: A retrospective analysis of all clinical pregnancies conceived in our IVF program since 1998 was p...

Day 3 versus day 5 embryo transfer: a prospective randomized study.

Transfer of embryos at the blastocyst stage has been associated with exceptionally high implantation rates. There are, however, only a few prospective randomized studies comparing day 3 versus day 5 embryo transfer. Furthermore, the number of embryos replaced in the day 3 group transfer is often higher than the number of blastocysts replaced, thereby affecting implantation rates. A total of 118...

A prospective randomized study: day 2 versus day 5 embryo transfer.

BACKGROUND This randomized controlled study was performed in an unselected IVF/ICSI population to test the hypothesis that blastocyst transfers result in higher clinical pregnancy rates (CPR) per oocyte retrieval when compared with day 2 transfers. METHODS Blind randomization for transfer on day 2 (group 1) or day 5/6 (group 2) was performed before stimulation. Oocytes and embryos were cultur...

Reduced Ectopic Pregnancy Rate on Day 5 Embryo Transfer Compared with Day 3: A Meta-Analysis

OBJECTIVE To compare the risk of ectopic pregnancy (EP) after embryo transfer on day 3(D3-ET) and day 5(D5-ET). DESIGN Meta-analysis. PATIENTS Women with pregnancy resulting from in vitro undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). RESULT(S) Twenty-two studies were identified through research conducted using the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane database...

Day 3 embryo transfer versus day 5 blastocyst transfers: A prospective randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to show whether transferring day 5 embryos resulted in higher implantation and pregnancy rates than transferring day 3 embryos in Turkish women undergoing an intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycle. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 190 women who had ICSI after retrieval of more than four oocytes on the day of fertilization check were randomly assigned to under...
